About	Michael J. Desmarais, age 62, of Chesterfield, passed away August 27, 2012. He was a project engineer for General Motors and served in the U.S. Navy. Mike was a member of St. Mary Queen of Creation Church, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Anchor Bay Council #5981, a past Grand Knight and safety director for AYSO. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling and music. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Mike served our country and the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Goldsborough. His ship was heavily damaged by enemy fire in Vietnam. Mike was a proud Veteran and continued to serve his community for many years before finally succumbing to cancer in 2012. His multiple myeloma was a direct result of his exposure to Agent Orange during the war. Mike was a true hero who gave the ultimate sacrifice to the country he loved.
