About	Mr. Jon Cameron Parker, Sr., 37, died Tuesday (May 13, 2008) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a native of Rocky Mount, NC but had lived most of his life in Brantley County. Two sisters, Dawn Parker and Amy Kristen Parker, preceded him in death. He was CFO with Atlantic Coast Bank and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He was an Alumni of Georgia Southern College and a graduate of Waycross College. Survivors include his wife, Sherri Collins Parker of Waycross; a son, Jon "Cameron" Parker, Jr. of Waycross; a step-son, Trenton Thrift of Kingsland; a step-daughter, Mallory Thrift of Waycross; his parents, J.D. and Hope Parker of Waycross; and several aunts, uncles, and other relatives. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday (May 16, 2008) at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at 790 Wynton Circle and at Music Funeral Home Thursday night from 6 until 8. The 1988 graduating class of Brantley County High School are requested to meet at the church at 1:40 p.m. Friday to serve as honorary pallbearers.
