About	Donald Highsmith Jr. Wed, Sep 7, 2005 Donald "Laverne" Highsmith Jr., 34, of Nahunta died Monday at the Satilla Regional Medical Center in Waycross. Mr. Highsmith was a native of Chatham County. He worked in construction, roofing and painting and attended the Raybon Advent Christian Church. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Raybon Advent Christian Church with the Revs. Hilton Morgan and Paul Rhoden officiating. Burial will follow in Rob Lewis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Coy Brooker, Andy Davis, Jeff Crews, Matt Gurley, Jesse Lee Horton, Dale Walker, Shane Whitford and Larry Groover. The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. today at Chambless-Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. Survivors include his mother, Marguerite Burke Highsmith of Nahunta; a sister, Rebecca Highsmith of Nahunta; a brother, Charles Highsmith of Nahunta; and other relatives.
