What is Jason Starkey known for?

Jason Starkey, born on July 15, 1977 in Barboursville, West Virginia, is a former American football player. He attended Cabell Midland High School in Ona, West Virginia, before making his way to college football at Marshall University.

Despite not being drafted in the 2000 NFL Draft, Starkey kick-started his professional football career with the Arizona Cardinals, where he showcased his skills as a center for four seasons (2000 - 2003). During his stint in the NFL, he played 34 games, starting in 9 out of them.

In 1999, while at Marshall, Starkey earned the honor of being selected for the First-team All-MAC, demonstrating his talent and hard work on the football field.

After leaving the Cardinals and retiring from professional football, Starkey transitioned into coaching. He used his wealth of football knowledge and experience to mentor the young players at Lopez High School in Brownsville, Texas, where he served as the head football coach until his resignation in 2018.
