Jeff Chandler

Class of 1976

Served in the United States Army for 22 years before retiring in June 2004. During his military service, I served in the Infantry as a Mortar man, served two years as an investigator for the United States Army Criminal Investigation Division and finished my career as a Field Artilleryman.
I’ve held many positions to include Fire Support Section Chief, Fire Support Platoon Sergeant, Advisor to the United Army Reserve Components, Drill Sergeant, Fire Support Senior Staff Enlisted Advisor, as a First Sergeant for a MLRS unit and Senior Enlisted Advisor of ROTC at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. I have also held the position of Regimental Sergeant Major for two assignments to ROTC Summer Camps at Fort Lewis, Washington.
My tours of duty include assignments in the United States to include Georgia, Alabama, Oklahoma and Maryland. My overseas tours include one tour with the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii, four tours in Germany and one tour in Bosnia Herzegovina.
Awards the Meritorious Service Medal Second Award, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Fifth Award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with numeral three, Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Ribbon with fourth award, the Air Assault Badge and the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge.
My military education include the United States Army First Sergeant Sergeants Course, the Battle Staff Course, Advance Noncommissioned Officers Course, the Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, the United States Army Drill Sergeants School, Combat Lifesavers Course, Air Assault Course and the Primary Leadership Development Course.
I received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Excelsior College in Liberal Arts with a Minor in Educational Child Psychology and a Masters Degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in Curriculum and Instructions. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate at Liberty University in Educational Leadership.
My professional memberships include the National Association of Secondary School Principles (NASSP), Georgia Association of Secondary School Principles (GASSP), National Society of Leadership and Success (Sigma Alpha Pi), UCCS, Honorary Member of the National Youth Leadership Council and the Youth Leadership Hall County Committee
I have been teaching for over fifteen combined years in the military and after retiring and has served as a member of the Mount Vernon Elementary School board in Gainesville, Georgia before being selected to a two year position to chair the same board.
I currently serves as the Director of Plans and Operations for the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, Georgia and holds a seat as a member of the executive staff to the school President.
