1978 CONY VALEDICTORIAN RECEIVES MEDAL OF HONOR

Tom Huntington, the 1978 Cony valedictorian, has been honored by Philadelphia's General Meade Society with their highest award, the Order of Merit Medal.
The Society presents the award annually to the individual they feel deserves to be recognized for furthering their mission of commemorating the memory of Civil War's General Meade. Huntington, the son of Mil and Lil Huntington of Augusta, authored "Searching for George Gordon Meade, the Forgotten Victor of Gettysburg".
He received the medal recently in Philadelphia at the Society's annual champagne brunch ceremony. Huntington's first three books were "Ben Franklin's Philadelphia", Pennsylvania's Civil War Trails" and "A Guide to Gettysburg's Battlefield Monuments."
Huntington is a former managing editor of Historic Traveler, Washington, D.C. and American History in Harrisburg, PA. He also served as editor of Saturday Review and Air & Space Magazine in Washington, D.C. He contributes regularly to several national magazines
He lives with is wife, Beth Ann and their two children in Camp Hill, PA.
