About Me JDRF WALK IS COMING UP SEPTEMBER 25 IN DALLAS. JOIN US AS WE WALK FOR BRITT'S BUNCH FOR DIABETES. Teaching Special Education in Dallas ISD; Head of the department; like to bake; love to shop; love to travel Dallas ISD Congratulations to Peggy Bullard, a special education teacher at Seagoville High School, who has won the Week 16 Question of the Week posed to Dallas ISD staff. The question: Who has helped you the most in your career? Explain how. Peggy's answer: "I am lucky in that my mother has not only been my mother, but also my tea...cher in two grades—second grade and later junior English—and ultimately, life. It is hard to determine which role was the most important in helping guide me to my career as a teacher. My mother taught 64 years and has been a teacher and superintendent — being a superintendent when women were in the extreme minority. Her strength in working with students and teaching all students regardless of learning challenges from a one-room schoolhouse to a classroom has given me the path to my success. This is my 40th year in education having been a CTE teacher-coordinator for 22 years, a high school counselor for 11 years, and currently in my seventh year in special education teaching at Seagoville HS. I have always used her tenacity to teach all students as my goal to my path to teaching. Whether I make 64 years is yet to be seen, but these 40 years have zoomed by so quickly, and I wonder what my next career path in education will hold. My goal is to do the best at whatever I do and be an example for students." Peggy will receive a gift card redeemable at Chili's, On the Border, Macaroni Grill or Maggiano's restaurants, courtesy of Brinker International. Thanks to all staff who participated.
