Katrina Evans-Dobbs

Class of 1984

Mrs. Dobbs is a 1984 graduate of DHS. She is the founding Director of Project SWIFT based in Atlanta, GA; Sisters Walking in Faith Together is a non-profit leadership organization that actively promotes self- and community empowerment for young women ages 18 and older. She is the wife of Reverend Ashley Dobbs where they serve as Pastor and First Lady to Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Covington, GA. In addition to her civic duties, she is the National Alumnae Corresponding Secretary for Spelman College. After leaving a career in corporate Healthcare as Regional Director for Provena Health Systems in Chicago, IL, she decided to pursue her passion to teach and is currently a Mathematics High School Teacher. After completing her PhD in Educational Leadership, Mrs. Dobbs plans to open an after school tutoring program for at risk youth in her area.

Mrs. Dobbs was a former Homecoming Queen '84 at DHS, Flag Corp Captian, and Who's Who Among American HS Students among others. She went on to earn her BA degree with Honors in Human Services from Spelman College, Master's in Special Education from GA College & State University.

Mr. and Mrs. Dobbs share three sons, Jaquas and Juron who are Sr. and Sophomore respectively and star basketball players at Clayton State University, and Brandon Thomas who is a Freshman at Morehouse College.

She is a true role model for her community and is a very proud of Alumni of Daingerfield HS. She is very deserving of this award.
