About On December 31st Patricia Maria Ayon Clark, 63, went to Jesus after a lifelong battle with Muscular Dystrophy. To so eloquently paraphrase the words of one of her many, many loving friends, "This was a woman who gave immense love to everyone who called or went through her door. Her smile could light up a room, her laugh was contagious, and being around her was never dull. She was a friend to many when they needed one." Another loving friend described her as an inspiration and a blessing to so many people and such an amazing example of faith and strength. A graduate of Bel Air High School, Patty received her BA in Journalism along with her teaching credentials in secondary English at UTEP. She served on the Prospector staff as a journalist during her tenure at UTEP. She retired from the Ysleta ISD after 27 years having taught at Eastwood and Del Valle High Schools, Indian Ridge Middle School, Ysleta Learning Center and Cesar Chavez Academy. Patty most loved teaching ESL to adult English language learners. During her teaching years, Patty was active in the Ysleta Teachers Association where she served on the Board as Public Relations Chairperson. She was a volunteer at the Lighthouse for the Blind and served as a Judge for the Muscular Dystrophy Lockup Fundraiser for several years. Patty is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Harry (Skip) Clark, sister Olivia (Andrei) Leschick, niece Monica Leschick, sister Sylvia (Jay) Stuckey,, brother David (Monica) Ayon, sister Gloria Hoyos and Manny Castaneda, Bob and Vicki Hodes, Goree Trusksa, and her extended loving family, Msgr. Victor Kayrouz, Martha Dressen, Maria Perez, Vaola Garcia, Blanca Carillo, Debbie Monroe, Mikie Darville, Martin Rodriguez, Sharon Demco among so many, many others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elisa and Frank Ayon. The family would like to extend its thanks to the caring staffs of Del Sol Hospital ER and ICU, Kindred Transitional Hospital, St. Teresa Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, the El Paso Fire Department, Station 19, Msgr. Victor Kayrouz, Father Allan Oluoch Alaka of St. Raphael Parish, Msgr. Francis Smith, vocalist Craig Sikes, Annette Contreras from San Jose Funeral Home, videographer Jorge Gutierrez, and Hospice of El Paso. Pallbearers will be Jay Stuckey, Andrei Leschick, Martin Rodriguez, Jose Rodrigo Villela, Jesus Felix Villela, John Davis, Gilbert Tijerina, and Robert Ramey. Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM followed by Rosary at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 4 at St. Rafael Parish, 2301 Zanzibar Rd. Funeral service celebrating Patty's life will be held at 9:30 AM, Thursday, January 5 at St. Rafael Parish. Services entrusted to San Jose Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a contribution in Patty's name to the local MDA.
