About	Clement Penelton \| Visit Guest Book Clement "Clem" Charles Penelton ("CCP"), age 84, of Edwardsville, died at 4:45 p.m., on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, a week after entering Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon. Born Aug. 5, 1926, in Edwardsville, Clem was the third child born to the late Harry A. and Dorothy (Smith) Penelton. Clem attended the historic Lincoln School on North Main Street in Edwardsville. He served in the United States Army Air Corps, earning a Victory Medal during World War II. A lifelong resident of Edwardsville, Clem ("Uncle Clem") was more than a brother or uncle to generations of Penelton family members. Clem worked at the former US Radiator Corporation in Edwardsville. He then worked at the Madison County Courthouse until his retirement in 1990. From his comfortable living room chair at home he enjoyed cowboy movies, Cardinal and Cubs baseball, and Clint Eastwood action movies. Clem liked to spend time with his friends at the American Legion Post 199. Clem leaves to cherish his memory and will be dearly missed by: his sister K. Nadine (Penelton) Bradshaw of Edwardsville, a brother Bill (Patti) Penelton of Edwardsville, three sisters-in-law, Delores Penelton of Edwardsville, Barbara Penelton of Peoria, and Patti Penelton; five nephews, Harry (Pat) Penelton III of St. Louis, Mo., Morris "Brad" (Debbie) Bradshaw of Alameda, Calif., Terrence "Terry" (Cynthia) Bradshaw of Columbia, Mo., Dwayne Penelton of Indianapolis, Ind., and Michael Penelton of Kansas City, Mo.; eight nieces, Lesley Rattler of Indianapolis, Ind., Teresa "Teri" Penelton of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rhonda Penelton of Edwardsville, Kimberly (Frank) Campbell of Chicago, Lisa Penelton of Chicago, Andrea Penelton of Wichita, Kan., Moneletia Penelton of Wichita, and Karyle Penelton of Edwardsville; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Clem was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers: Bob, Harry, George, Richard and Tony Penelton. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., on Sunday, Dec. 5, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 6, at Wesley Chapel AME in Edwardsville with the Rev. Christal Bell-Bryant and Pastor Clifton Carpenter officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Wesley Chapel AME.
