Taurean Henderson, born on January 20, 1983, in Gatesville, Texas, is a former American football player who has made his mark in the sports world. Notable as a multi-purpose running back, his journey in football took off from Gatesville High School where he incredibly rushed for 6,337 yards and scored 76 touchdowns throughout his high school career. His notable senior season, during which he rushed for 2,953 yards with 32 touchdowns on 386 carries, led Gatesville to a Class 3A State Championship. With numerous accolades to his name, including First-team All-State and the Texas Sportswriters Association Offensive Player of the Year, he was heavily recruited by schools like Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, and Kansas.

Taurean chose Texas Tech for his collegiate career despite its predominantly passing-based offense. He caught over 300 passes in his career and ranked third in all-time receptions. Additionally, he held the second position in Tech's career receptions list and career touchdowns list. This successful chapter of his career also saw him setting a number of records, including the highest scoring for a Tech Junior (108 points in 2004) and the most receptions by an NCAA Freshman (98 in 2002).

Upon entering the professional football realm in 2006, Taurean initially signed as a free agent with the Minnesota Vikings but was released shortly after. He then moved on to the Atlanta Falcons and played for Rhein Fire as part of NFL Europa. Post his NFL career, he coached for the Texas Revolution of the Indoor Football League.
