About Christopher Kirby Obituary

Christopher John Kirby, 36, of Aurora, passed away December 9, 2020, after a short, courageous fight with leukemia. Born June 5, 1984, Christopher grew up in Northbrook and graduated from Northern Michigan University. His career in civil/industrial construction took him around the country, including Montana, California, and Florida. Most recently, he was a Senior Project Manager at ComEd. Christopher leaves behind his loving life partner Ashley Conard, their 8-month-old son Rogan and joins their baby Finley in death. He was a father-figure to Ashley's daughter Madison and doted on their dog, Charlie. He is the dear son of John (Sue) Kirby and late mother, Janice. He is survived by his grandfather Robert Atols; grandmother Cornelia Kirby; aunt Anne Marie Gerhardt (Dave); uncles Bill Kirby (Anna) and Barney Atols; close cousins Ashley Dorsch, Aaron Berkland, and Kaylee, Cal and Carson Gerhardt; stepbrothers, Eric, Jason, Tom, and Ben Clinge; and many friends who were like family. Also, preceded in death are his grandfather John Kirby and grandmother Mary Atols. Christopher was a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. He loved traveling, the mountains, camping, and outdoor activities (especially in Northern Michigan). He enjoyed an annual Colorado ski trip with his best buddies from Sugar Grove and was known for a good ribbing, always in good fun. A celebration of life is planned for June 2021. Two GoFundMe pages have been set up at https://gf.me/u/zb6379 and https://gf.me/u/zb58iw to help provide for his family.
