About	Doris Whitley Martella, born May 4, 1934, passed away following heart valve replacement surgery. While the surgery was initially successful, and she appeared to be recovering, she suddenly developed a tear in her heart. Despite the efforts of her surgeons, she passed away in the surgical suite. Ever the optimist and comedienne, she kept everyone (including the hospital staff) in stitches (pun intended). There will be a memorial service for her on October 25th in Boulder, CO, and her ashes will be scattered in the mountains around Black Hawk Casino that she loved so much. She was greatly loved and will be missed very much.
