Forerunner of the Washington State Republican Party, Luke Esser, was born on August 26, 1961 in Seattle, Washington. He is recognizable for his work as a politician, attorney, and journalist, as well as his educational prowess at the University of Washington where he graduated three times, earning a Bachelor's degree in both Editorial Journalism & Accounting, a Juris Doctorate degree, and an MBA degree. He initially rose to prominence serving as a member of the Washington House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003, before his stint as a state senator between 2003 and 2007.

His leadership tenure began when he was elected chairman of the Washington State Republican Party in 2007, a position he held till 2011. During the 2008 Caucuses, Esser played a crucial role, calling the Republican presidential caucus of Washington for John McCain after 87% of the vote had been counted. After his term as chairman expired in 2011, Esser continued his political career in Bellevue, Washington where he currently resides.

However, politics isn't his only field of interest. During the 1990s, Esser was a contributing writer to the Fantasy Football Index, a well-known fantasy football publication in the nation.
