Cynthia (Horton) Gillespie

Class of 1979

Cynthia Horton graduated in 1979. After graduating, she attended Savannah State University for four years and obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Electical Engineering Technology in 1983. After graduating from Savannah State University, she moved to Baltimore Maryland and worked for Westinghouse later Northrup Gruman from 1984 to 1998 as a contract engineer for the Department of Defense in the space defense industry. In 1997 she obtained a Masters of Science in Systems Management from the College of Notre Dame.

In 1998, she assumed her current position as a software intergration manager for the International Space Station. In her current position with United Space Alliance at NASA, she oversees the development of laptop software used by Astronaunts to command, control, and monitor the status and health of the International Space
Station. Cynthia is married to Floyd Gillespie and they have five children and seven grandchildren.
