About	In Memory of Eugene "Gene" Duke Jr. April 8, 1960 - December 2, 2012 Obituary Eugene "Gene" Duke Jr. passed away unexpectedly December 2, 2012. He was a loving husband and dedicated father. He was born on April 8, 1960 in San Antonio Texas. He has lived most of his life in Houston Texas. He attended Marshall High School in San Antonio where he lettered in football and then was accepted to Southwest Texas State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance. Gene worked for Bertrand's Inc., a food distributorship, for the past fifteen years. He enriched the lives of everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed. He treasured his family and friends and brought joy and light-hearted humor to everyday life with his stories, especially about football. Gene, known as "GenO" by his football buddies was an avid Houston Texans football fan and enjoyed tailgating and the games with his friends for the past ten years. He also found great pleasure in his Saturday afternoon pool parties with his friends. His boys and dogs were the things he treasured most in this life. Gene is survived by his wife, Charlene, his sons Brandon and Charlie Duke, his parents Eugene Sr. and Gloria Duke, his sister Gina, his brother Brian and wife Emy Duke, his nephew Zach and niece Elizabeth "Lizzie" and other family and numerous friends. The visitation will be on Wednesday December 5th from 5 to 8pm. The memorial service celebrating his life is to be conducted at ten o'clock in the morning Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Brookside Funeral Home Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North.
