About	"I would like to inform you that my husband, H. Gene Samuel passed away on February 25, 2014. He was 93 and in decreasing health for especially the last two years. He had open heart surgery in April 2012 to replace a stenosed Aortic valve and recovery was anything but smooth. He has had three hospitalizations since October 2013, the last being between February 12th and 22nd. He developed pneumonia, a risk since the heart surgery and chose to not try to recover again as he had before. He consciously decided to come home on hospice and he died three days later. Our two daughters were home with him. All was peaceful. He was a brave man, a pilot instructor in WWII, a Kodak retiree, an outspoken critic of our local school system, and a lifelong learner. R.I.P. Gene Samuel, my husband of 40 years, predeceased by his high school sweetheart, Pat (married 30years)."
