About	Jan had suffered from some physical problems for a number of years and unfortunately for us friends, the Good LORD took her away about six or so years ago. Jan remained a resident of Kailua until her death. I will remember her smile and determination to do things. She loved being in Select Chorus under Shigeru and she loved to speak French. Aloha my dear friend.

I met Jan in '68 and was there for her graduation but then moved before my graduation in '71. We were very good friends but lost contact with her after sometime in the late 90's. She and Shirley (Woodward) Jackovich and I had done many things together to include our 2 years in Select Choir, which was Jan's love. She loved to speak French and always corrected my pronunciations and grammar when I took it up my junior year. We three along with a few others spent much of our free time at school at the platform in front of the Surfboards talking about our different classes. We 3, along with Kimberly and sometimes Patti would find ourselves at parties that someone would host that would end up with swimming and singing of course. It was Shirley that told me of Jan's passing and when Shirley, her husband Joe, my wife Anne and I would get together here in the Phoenix area, we pull out our He`e Nalus and pretty much bore our spouses to death as we speak of our great memories of Kailua. Aloha sweet Kawina Lei. I love you dearly, miss you so very much but know I will see you again Art Fesler-Butts
