Charles "Chuck" Francis DeLonge, 70, passed away on Dec. 9, 2017, in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Charles was born on Aug. 2, 1947, in Steamboat Springs, Colo. He later moved to Templeton, Roseburg and then Klamath Falls, Ore. He graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1965. He joined the Oregon Army National Guard in 1965 and served until being honorably discharged with a rank of sergeant.
He married his beloved wife, Lola, on April 7, 1973, in Klamath Falls. Charles worked for and was the co-owner of the downtown Chevron Stations with Milt Peery. He started his career in the fire service at Suburban Fire District and Klamath County Fire District No. 1 in 1976. He retired as a captain from the Klamath County Fire District No. 1 in 2002.
Charles enjoyed many activities such as hunting, archery, fishing, camping, traveling, outdoor activities, motorcycles, boating, photography, spending time with family, snowmobiles, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers, dune buggies and practical jokes. He was a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and a lifetime member of the NRA.
Survivors include his wife, Lola DeLonge of Klamath Falls; sons, Del DeLonge, Randy and his wife Sennie DeLonge, and Dustin and his wife Jessica DeLonge of Klamath Falls; daughter-in-law, Kathy DeLonge of Klamath Falls; grandchildren, Natalie, Haley, Chris, Brynna, Ayla, Dylan, and Clara; brother, Allen DeLonge; sister-in-law, Margaret "Toots" DeLonge; good friends, Jess Atkins, Gary Mulvey and Pat Gallagher; brothers-in-law, Russ (Debbie) and Ken (Rene) Christensen; and sister-in-law, Karlene Christensen.
Charles was preceeded in death by his mother, Iva DeLonge; father, George DeLonge; brother, Ray DeLonge; and sister, Shirley Hanen.
There will be a celebration of life service in Foothills Christian Fellowship on Dec. 16, 2017, at 1 p.m. with full military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pelican Post No. 1383 with volunteers from the V.F.W. and the Marine Corps League. Per Chuck's request, please consider wearing camo, cowboy or fire attire. Memorial Contributions can be made to Klamath Hospice.
