He is best known as a left fielder in Major League Baseball (MLB), playing for the New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays. Throughout his career, Ceciliani demonstrated noteworthy performance statistics, contributing a batting average of .190, with 19 hits, 2 home runs, and 7 runs batted in across his time in the major leagues.

Before his professional journey, Ceciliani attended Columbia Basin College after graduating from Madras High School. In his only year at Columbia Basin, he led the team in slugging percentage, doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs, walks, and runs scored, paving the way towards his successful professional career.

As a professional, Ceciliani was drafted by the New York Mets in the fourth round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft.
