About	Kate who had lived in the Reston VA area for nearly 40 years after graduating from Hillsdale College in 1973 succumbed to a 2 year struggle with cancer and 20 years of MS. Kate had spent her entire working career in government working for defense contractors Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, and, most recently Booz Allen Hamilton. Her expertise was in software for weapons systems used by the military. She had also worked directly for and with the Dep't of Defense, the Nat'l Reconnaisance Office, NIMA and other Federal agencies involved with the intelligence community specifically involving imagery satellite systems. Kate obatined 2 Master's degree, one from W. Michigan University and one from American University in Washington DC and enjoyed competitive horse riding for years.She also enjoyed gardening and was active in the National Presbyterian Church in Washington where she had been a Deacon. She donated her body to medical science for research purposes.
