To whom it may concern:
As you review the alumni for inclusion into the John Marshall High School 2010 Hall of Fame I would like to nominate an entire family of Marshall alumni that has made a remarkable contribution within the community, The Dowdy Family.

Jerome Dowdy 1984 Deacon
This family has remained in the community since graduation and each of them have mentored, contributed and dedicated their lives to maintaining a viable community. They have raised their children in the community and have sent all of them to college. They work tirelessly in one of the neighborhood churches, New Mount Pilgrim at 4301 West Washington and touch hundreds of young people in the congregation, many of which are students at Marshall High School. This is one family that has represented Marshall since the mother, Minerva Dowdy stepped in the doors of Marshall over 50 years ago. They are diligent, respectful and giving and no family has made such a mark than this family. They represent Marshall well and do it without asking for any recognition. They are all role models and has never jeopardized Marshall’s reputation but has only enhanced it because they are well respected. Some students that have been at Marshall for the past 30 years were able to complete their students due to the mentoring and guidance of this family. They support and encourage all students to shoot for the stars and that nothing should stop them from reaching their goals.
This family warrants recognition as John Marshall High School first Hall of Fame Family Induction. Please accept this nomination for the items mentioned and many more that has not been noted.
