About Diane J. Hillman, age 70, of Menomonie died Wed., May 25, 2005 at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.

Diane was born on February 6, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN to George and Rose (Fischer) Lestico. They moved to Chicago where Diane graduated from North Park High School. She worked at Walgreens in Chicago before moving to Menomonie with her parents in 1965. Diane was hired in 1966 as a secretary for the junior high as an assistant to Ed Phelan and later Neal Fellrath. She later became administrative assistant to the Menomonie High School principal until her retirement in 1996 after 30 years of service. Diane always cherished her time and the relationships she made within the school district.

Diane married Gerald Hillman on August 8, 1970 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie.

Diane was an avid Chicago Bears and Menomonie Indians football fan. She also attended numerous sporting events, especially watching her sons. She loved dogs, especially her dachshund, Gretchen. Diane enjoyed being with people and loved to laugh. She also liked to travel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Pillman and David Whelan officiating. Burial in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and from 10:00 AM until time of services on Wednesday at the church.
