About Me Strongest beliefs....FAMILY is everything....Friends are sacred treasurers that illuminate your life.....Kindred Spirits are out there, waiting for you to find them.......Moderation in all things....may not be sexy or too exciting (and REALLY, must everything be?) but it will sure as heck keep you out of trouble.........BIO....Once upon a time, long, long a go, there was a girl.... Born in Vancouver in the 1950's to Everett and MaryJane. The 4th of 6 kids. My dad fought@ Pearl Harbor. His was on one of the first ship to return fire. His career was a state trooper (though he always told me he'd a made a better boot legger), his family homesteaded in WA. My mom immigrated from Ukraine to Saskatchewan when she was nine. Her dad, my grandfather fought for and was personally decorated by Czar Nicholas with the highest medal of honor awarded, the Georgian Cross. After family members started to "disappear" grandfather packed up his pregnant wife, 5 kids and fled the Bolsheviks in the middle of the night to Canada. My mom raised 6 kids then went out, got her brokers license and made her fortune. They were' married almost 50 years when my dad died in 1993. My mom was in a coma when he died....not a good time for the family. Mom passed away March 17, 2008. It was her time, but I will forever miss her. We moved from SW WA when I was 2 to Northern, WA and lived there until 1960's, then relocated to tiny town in the boondocks even further up North, WA., Graduated high school there, went through nursing program, almost finished but decided at 19 to marry (remember in the 1970's you were still expected to get married before you had sex...and I knew my priority...LOL) Married my high school sweetheart, Jerry. After 39 years, he's still the what and who that makes me happiest...maddest....and saddest. We lived in San Diego while he was in the service, I would have stayed forever, but he'd had enough so we moved back to Northern WA. First jobs were in retail...loved those clothes. Went from there to banking. Been doin that now for over 30 years. Finally made Senior Vice President then went through a bank failure and got busted back down to Vice President. Jerry and I had two children, a boy and girl. We lost our son @ 19 in 2000. We will never recover. It is NOT true that the pain becomes less over time. You do establish a routine that they are not a part of...or you go crazy. Even with the routine, crazy remains a big part of your world. My daughter had a BEAUTIFUL humongous wedding in 2007 (that we're STILL paying for..LOL) and gave us our first BEAUTIFUL grand child/daughter in spring 2010 then in spring 2011 she had GORGEOUS IDENTICAL TWIN BOYS. Oh my, THREE bambinos in under 14 months, she is BUSY, not to mention grandma and grandpa...we are too much alike and too much different, but we muddle through and I love her....she's married a wonderful young man perfect for her, none better. Jerry's a principal at a middle school...his middle name is patience, forget about middle schoolers, he HAS put up with me for over 38 years..... We bought a property for a second home East of the Cascades...took over 2 years to build....It's finally pretty much done (check out the pics on facebook photos or vacationrentals.com - Oroville) and we're finally able to swim in the pool (yep, skinny dippin is amazing, to bad I waited until over 50 to try it...good thing it's really isolated...It's necessary that people our age do this type of activity in COMPLETE privacy....for the sanity of others.) I'm a conservative with liberal tendencies....believe in a women's right to choose, don't misunderstand, MY choice has been and always will be life. Just as strongly believe others have the RIGHT to their choice. God gives us the right to choice and he, not me, will judge those choices....also believe in a mans (or women's) right to keep his/her opinions to him/herself. Do not believe in any form of government welfare or bail outs....if you're over 18, have an IQ of over 65 and are not physically disabled...get off your ass and get a job. STRONGLY believe it's our elected officials RESPONSIBILITY to balance the federal budget. If you own a business YOU take the risks and deserve the rewards....I give generously of both time and money to charities and yes I get to choose to which ones....For those of you under 18...Your parents responsibilities are: 1) Feed you 2) Cloth you 3) Keep a roof over your head...Only Until your 18 4) Keep their hands off you in any inappropriate way. 5) Kick your butt out and let you grow up. If you're lucky they'll love you...and if you've proven you deserve it, and they can afford it, they could help you with higher education. Other than that you're on your own. Quit blaming them for YOUR problems. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS... Don't ask for my advice if you're going to be ticked off that it's different from yours. ...There is a god. Mine is no different t...(read more)
