About	Butch was an old friend of mine throughout our growing up in Mount Vernon, TX in the 1950's. He and I were football teammates with the fighting Mt Vernon Tigers in the season of 1956, and he earned the distinction of being named All-District Center that year despite his being only a Sophomore at the time. And, I kept up with him when he was going to College and playing football at Baylor University.
