About	Alphonso “Al” Gordon, retired and decorated army veteran, was born on the 3rd of October 1963 to Ernest and Margie Gordon. Al was a church going man who was kind and caring to all he met. A wonderful husband, a loving father, great provider, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. Al never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. He was a quiet man, who listened intently to others and never complained. Al had a heart for people and demonstrated it in his work and community. As radio manager for Marion County where he dedicated 17 years as radio manager for the Marion County Sheriff department. Al was loyal and dedicated 22 years in the United States army. While serving his country, Alphonso received several medals of honor. A man of service Alphonso continued to serve 17 years with the Marion County Sheriff department as radio manager. This position was responsible for making sure every deputy and support staff had radio service. No job was too big for Alphonso and no request too small. His smile and wit lit up a room. He was loved and touched so many hearts along the way. He will be truly be missed. Al is preceded in death by his father, Ernest Gordon, Sr. and his brother, Curtis Gordon. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, mother, sister, brothers, and grandsons.
