$5000 for PBHS Science & Tech!

PB Foundation presents $5,000 Dominion Grant to PBHS Science and Technology Departments!

On Thursday, March 11th 2010, Philip Barbour High School Foundation Executive Director, Kellie Satterfield presented a check for $5,000 to Tim McDaniel, Science Instructor at PBHS. The much needed funds came from a very generous grant from The Dominion Foundation. Satterfield submitted the grant titled, “Updating Science and Technology at PBHS ~ A Great Start!” in December of 2009 via The Dominion Foundations’ online grant request process. She received the good news that Dominion had awarded the Foundation with $5,000 in February, 2010.

Satterfield commented, “PBHSF is extremely thankful to Dominion Foundation for believing in, and providing the jumpstart needed towards bringing Philip Barbour’s Science and Technology Departments up to date. When I took the check to PBHS is was like Christmas in March ~ definitely a day for big, huge smiles at Philip Barbour!”

The Dominion Foundation contributes more than $20 million annually to charities in the states where it operates, or the locations where is has significant facilities or business interests. Many grants are targeted to community revitalization projects, cultural and arts programs, revitalization of math and science education, environmental stewardship, and health and human services.
