PORTLAND -- Andrew Colby Soup Campbell, 22, of Woodfield Road in Portland died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in Maine Medical Center from injuries due to an accident.
Soup was born in Portland on Aug. 8, 1984, the son of Jeffory and Patti (Ham) Campbell. Andrew and his family moved to Orlando, Fla., in 1990, but returned to Portland in 1996. He was member of the 2003 graduating class of Portland High School. After high school he attended St. Joseph College as well as Southern Maine Community College. He and his family were members of St. Peters Episcopal Church where he served as an acolyte.

He was also the only 11 year old on the 1996 Maine State Little League Championship Team. He also served as the Portland Seadogs batboy for a year and of course was an avid Red Sox fan.
Soup was always smiling and always quick with a joke. He always seemed to light up a room with his sparkling aura. He was a very giving and loving person and made it his life goal to make someone else smile. An example of that giving character is evident even in his passing, Soup had the foresight to become an organ donor and because of that giving spirit several people will be able to live a better life.
Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Jillian L. Campbell; a brother, Alex R. Campbell; his grandparents, Viggo and Evelyn Jensen of South Portland and Frank and Gertrude Ham of Cape Elizabeth. He also leaves five uncles, Kevin Campbell and his wife Linda of Portland, Frank Ham and his wife Carla of Portland, James Ham of Saco, Peter Ham and his wife Marty of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Richard Prescott of Weathersfield, Conn.; two aunts, Jeannie Odom and her husband Ralph of Kissimmee, Fla., and Carla Jensen and her husband Jay Gedney of Middleton, Conn.; several cousins as well as thousands of friends. He was also the grandson of the late Robert and Marilynn Campbell.
Soup's family and friends would like to express their sincere thanks and gratitude for the love, care and kindness shown by the staff at Main Medical Center Special Care Unit and the Organ Donor Coordinators. -
