About	Jack L. "Butch" King Jr., 55, of Ashland, Kentucky, passed away Nov. 3, 2011 in Parkersburg, WV. He was born on Sept. 15, 1956, the son of the late Jack Lee King and Janet Bare King of Parkersburg, WV. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by stillborn triplet brothers; his brother-in-law, Mike Brumfield; and his uncle, Charles "Sarge" Bare, who was like a second dad and best friend. He was a graduate of the Ravenswood High Class of 1974 and a graduate of the West Virginina State Police Basic Training as a a Wood County Deputy Sheriff. He was a graduate of the Kentrucky Police Training Academy as an Ashland Police Department Patrolman. He was also a graduate of the FBI National Academy as an Ashland Police Department Lieutenant. He also worked with canines with the Ashland Police Department and handled a drug dog and a tracking dog during his career. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Irvine King of Ashland; adult sons, Nathan (fiance Joanna and grandaughter Abigail), Brad (wife Adrienne), and Russell; sisters, Jan Nicely (Steve), Cheryl Brumfield, Rita Starling (Lendell), Susie King and Mark King (Sherrie); along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Sarge's son Jimmy Bare, who was like his own brother, also survives. Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Armana Irvine of Ashland; sister-in-law Vicki Joan Wolhoy of Ashland; and brother-in-law, Larry Irvine (Sarah) of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services were conducted on Nov. 7, 2011, at Steen Funeral Home with Steve Nicely officiating. Burial was at Highland Memory Gardens in South Point, Ohio.
