His multifaceted career spans various genres including comedy, podcasts, self-improvement, and dating. An interesting blend, isn't it?

Behrendt first made his name in the comedy field. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater, he moved to San Francisco and joined an improvisational troupe. He rubbed shoulders with fellow comic Margaret Cho and performed alongside comics like David Cross and Patton Oswalt. His comedy career took him to big screens like "The Tonight Show" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien".

After establishing himself in comedy, Behrendt broadened his horizons and ventured into writing. His entrance into the world of publishing started when he worked as a script consultant for the HBO sitcom "Sex and the City". His team, which included comedian Cal Wilson and English comedian Russell Kane, won the comedy event. Hooray for food lovers and comedy enthusiasts!

The multifaceted Behrendt also charted the waters of podcasting - starting the podcast "Walking the Room" with his friend Dave Anthony, and even played guitar in his own surf/rockabilly instrumental band, "The Reigning Monarchs".
