joy Rezek, 2nd Drum Major Dies

Joy Rezek Byers Marullo died last month, She took over after Pat Marx graduated and ran the band from fall 1956 until she graduated. She was beautiful in her later years and a good person.

Ist solo contest medalist dies

Bonnye McCarty died at Cold Spring, TX on 31 Jan. 2010. She won the first division 1 medal at regional solo contest duriong the year 56-57. She was ist cornet in the band She worked for a law firm in Galveston most of her working life. Sher was a strawberry-blonde, a tiny bit chunky., and very pleasant to be around. She was the beginning of a long streak iof competitive medals for the SFHS band. Regional was as high as one could combete in AA and AAA during that year.
