On 9/11 I was working at Joint Forces Command. It was a Tuesday. Every Tuesday-Thursday we played Tennis from 6-7 and were in the office by 0730. We had only been in the office for a short time when the planes hit the World Trade Center. It was an emotional time for everyone. A day later I was trying to coordinate an operational issue with the Department of Defense in Washington DC. I called the number listed in the directory. I stated who I was and what I needed when the voice on the other line paused for about 5 seconds, and then said "are you the same Randy Jackson that graduated from Science Hill in 1975" I said yes. "This is your classmate Mark Roupas". It turned out that Mark and I had both served in the Army over a 20 year period and didn't even know it. In the middle of all that chaos and tragedy, it was good to hear a Science Hill classmate I hadn't seen for almost 26 years.
