Alumni Stories
Brianna Williams
Class of 2004
Your current Miss Plus America 2011 is a Southwest High School graduate! Brianna's time at Southwest helped develop her into the woman she is today. While a student at Southwest she was very active in various clubs and organizations. She was a member and captain of the Color Guard (Band), member of the Speech and Debate Team winning several first place medals in Speech. Brianna also particiapted int he U.I.L. One Act Play, Concerned Senior Girls and African American Culture Club. Never speechless voted Wittiest Senior girl by her fellow classmates. Althoug she was very active, she never had enough courage to try things that really interested her. Brianna was slightly embarrassed to audition for the cheerleading adn dance team and regrets not stepping out on faith and trying something new. "I have been a plus size gal for most of my life. I hid the fact that I had low-self esteem for the longest time and I allowed my lack of confidence to keep me from going after certain goals." Now Brianna mentors young girls in hopes of helping them realize their potential. Congratulations to our Raider Brianna S Williams, Miss Plus America 2011 for using her Raider Pride to go after her dreams!
