What is Kassidy Cook known for?

Born on May 9, 1995, in Plantation, Florida, Kassidy Leigh Cook is an acclaimed American diver known for her achievements both nationally and internationally. She grew up in The Woodlands, Texas and is an alumnus of The Woodlands High School and Stanford University.

Cook was a member of the United States National Diving Team in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2017. Her journey to the Olympics was not smooth. She missed the 2012 Olympics by a mere 0.4 points but made a comeback in 2016, qualifying for and competing in the 2016 Summer Olympics. She placed 13th in the women's 3 metre springboard event.

Committed to her sport, Cook started diving at the age of four and trained for five hours a day, six days a week. Before her diving career, she was a child model. She was named the 2010 high school girls national champion in the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) diving All-American program.

Throughout her diving career, Cook has scooped numerous accolades. She's a two-time champion in the 1 metre and 3 metre springboard events at the 2010 FINA Junior World Championships, along with winning similar titles at the Speedo National Junior Diving Championships between 2007 and 2009. She's also proved her skills at the USA Diving Winter and Junior National Championships and AT&T National Diving Championships.

After her illustrious sports career, Kassidy Cook graduated from Stanford University in 2018 and is currently working as a recruiting coordinator at 23andMe.
