I graduated proudly from TTHS in 1980 with a great class of Artesians, athletes, and student journalists. I was a writer for the school newspaper, theater, and followed my friends into Madrigals (I had no special vocals). I was a dancer and most of my theatrical roles were because of my dancing. I was Chastity in Anything Goes! Ms. Buckner, who became the superintendent I believe inspired my interest in African and African American Studies. My literature teacher allowed us to make an 8mm film Mr. Bill style, of Oedipus Rex after we read. My typing teacher Diane became my sister-in-law, Dr. Claire Boyce, theater teacher, kept me from slipping into depression. Pat Wozny, a theater teacher, drove a cool Honda Civic and would blow her horn wildly as we drove thru tunnels. She convinced my mom to let me go to summer camp at Ronald McDonald House and work with children. We did the play Wally and the Harry Man. It was very rewarding. My TTHS experience followed my sister, Rochelle, and brother, Herbert's TTHS legacies. I did not have the academic excellence of my sister nor the basketball prowess of my brother but it was a great HS experience. My theater career there led me to Columbia College Dance program and a lifetime of dance performance and teaching.
