My, my, how time flies. It has been forty six years (April 2020) as I write this.
As I page through the Wesclin High School 1974 Warrior yearbook, there are
faces/names that I remember, and some I vaguely recall.

My school years in Clinton County, at Wesclin High School, were limited to 1971
(tenth, eleventh, twelfth grades) 1974. I, being a transplant (Military Brat), with my
Dad stationed at Scott Air Force Base and living in New Baden, prompted my attendance.
Then after graduation, having a Enlistment Contract with the U.S. Air Force, I was on
my way to San Antonio, Texas.

These three years of high school (1971-1974), applicable to most pre-adult students,
without question, are the most impressionable of times. Ours was the post Woodstock
Festival, the winding down of the Vietnam Conflict, the 1973 Oil Crisis, and the
Watergate Scandal.

In light of the current events, we found time to let our 'free flag fly', hitch hike every where
(safe for the most part), wear Bell Bottoms (when we weren't Streaking), go to rock
concerts (Kiel Auditorium), and basically all the irresponsible things that we do, before
going out and conquering the world.

I believe the 1971/1972 school year, Wesclin Jr. & Sr. High on State Hwy 160 between
Trenton and New Baden was brand new?? Through the years, was added on to, and then
around 2014 or before, a new High School was built on the property west of the old
school. On the hallway wall, starting in 1972, was posted the graduating classes (in the
old school)
