Here's the news you've been waiting for! Sue Mower and I met last week and have outlined tentative plans for our class reunion for Friday, September 16th and Saturday, September 17th. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Americinn on South Tenney Street in Kewanee. There are 18 standard rooms with two queen beds. The rate is normally $109.90 a night but we are getting a $10 discount for a reduced rate of $99.90 per night. A room with one king bed and a room with a whirlpool are also available at a higher rate and will also receive a $10 discount. Rooms include a continental breakfast, plus use of the indoor pool. To make your reservation, call the Americinn Kewanee directly at 309-856-7200 and speak with Sylvia, the general manager. The rooms will be reserved on a first come, first served basis so don't wait. If additional rooms are needed, there is also a Super 8 in Kewanee right next to the Americinn. That number is 309-853-8800. For those of you who will not be staying at the Americinn but still wish to get together, we will have use of the Americinn's meeting room, as well as the lobby. We will attend the WHS Homecoming game at Wethersfield. The game starts at 7 p.m. so we should probably plan to be there by 6:30 to get seats together. After the game, we will gather at the Americinn informally. On Saturday, you are free to make whatever plans you like (golfing, visiting Windmont Park, or whatever). We will gather again as a group on Saturday evening at 5:00 p.m. for dinner & our program (again at the Americinn).
