ESPN sportscaster and play-by-play voice of the NFL's Carolina Panthers.[61]

What is Anish Shroff (born 1982) known for?

Anish Shroff, a noted Indian American sportscaster, was born in 1982 in Bloomfield, New Jersey to Hitesh and Nikita Shroff, originally from Mumbai, India. After graduating from Bloomfield High School in 2000, Shroff pursued a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from the distinguished S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in 2004. During his time at Syracuse, Shroff honed his skills as a student broadcaster for WAER-FM, calling Syracuse Orange games.

Shroff's career took a significant leap forward when he appeared on the second season of ESPN's reality show "Dream Job" in 2004, where he was one of the three finalists. Following this, he worked as an anchor, talk show host, and play-by-play announcer at WHEN Radio in Syracuse, New York. He later served as a freelance anchor at CSTV (now CBS Sports Network) in New York City and also held the position of Sports Director at KNDO-TV in Yakima, Washington.

Shroff joined ESPN on January 1, 2008, initially working for ESPNews. While at ESPN, he provided commentary for college baseball, football, basketball, and lacrosse games, and hosted several shows on ESPN and ESPNU. In March 2022, he was named the third play-by-play announcer in the history of the Carolina Panthers, succeeding Mick Mixon after his retirement.
