What is Cody Pickett known for?

Cody J. Pickett, a professional American gridiron football player, is a proud alumnus of Caldwell High School, graduating with the class of 1999. Born on June 30, 1980, in Caldwell, Idaho, Pickett was a versatile four-sport athlete, excelling in football, basketball, golf, and rodeo, even earning a national championship in the latter.

Post high school, Pickett chose to attend the University of Washington in Seattle, where he further honed his football skills. In college, he was the backup to starter Marques Tuiasosopo in his freshman year. Following this, he became the starting quarterback for three consecutive seasons from 2001 to 2003, with wide receiver Reggie Williams being his primary target. Other than on-field achievements, Pickett also gained recognition for his academic performance, bagging the honorable mention Academic All-Pac-10 in 2000.

After his college career, he was picked in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He also had stints with other teams including the Houston Texans, Rhein Fire, Oakland Raiders, Toronto Argonauts, Montreal Alouettes, and the Calgary Stampeders. In his NFL career, Pickett had passing yards totaling 195, although his touchdowns to interceptions ratio was 0-4. His passer rating stood at 16.4. In the Canadian Football League (CFL), he achieved more prominence, with 2,163 passing yards and a TD-INT ratio of 4-5.

Awards and honors also graced his career including being the Huskies Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2002, making the second-team All-Pac-10 in the same year, and gaining a mention in the Sports Illustrated All-American honorable mentions list.
