Born on September 25, 1963, in Tenafly, New Jersey, Tate Buckley Donovan is an accomplished American actor, comedian, and television director. His career, spanning from 1984 to the present, is marked by many notable roles.

Tate is renowned for his roles in the television series Damages, where he portrayed Tom Shayes, and The O.C., where he played the character Jimmy Cooper. His voice was brought to life as the title character in the 1997 Disney animated film, Hercules, as well as in the animated television series of the same name and a few Kingdom Hearts video games.

His cinematic performances continued with a supporting role in the 1992 film, alongside Sandra Bullock, Love Potion No. 9. Tate also held supporting roles in other distinguished films such as Good Night, and Good Luck and Argo.
