About Me	I graduated from Mt Pleasant Sacred Heart, having moved there during my sophomore year. I attended Ferris for one year, then transferred to Central to pursue a degree in teaching. I graduated from CMU in 1983, then started my teaching career in Breckenridge, Michigan. I taught 6th grade for 9 years and coached basketball and baseball. I earned a Master's degree in elementary administration from CMU in 1992. My first principal's position was in Fulton-Middleton in a K-7 school. That was followed by 8 years as a principal in Grandville. In 2003, I left Michigan to take a job as principal in a school district in suburban Chicago. I worked in two districts over the course of 8 years before moving to New York City in 2011. I have traveled extensively over the years and have had the privilege of visiting Australia, Fiji, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and several European countries, as well as all many places in the United States. I particularly love San Francisco and Northern California. Michigan will always be home, though, and I enjoy returning there several times a year to see family and friends. I currently live in Brooklyn, New York, and work for the Thomas Shortman Training Fund.
