About Mary Margaret (McLaughlin) Craig, 80, of Indiana, Pa., and former Oil City resident, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, at UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh, following an extended illness. She had struggled with Alzheimer's disease and most recently pneumonia. Mrs. Craig had lived in Indiana for more than 40 years and, prior to that, in Latrobe. Born May 2, 1926, in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Margaret C. (Myers) McLaughlin. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph High School and was a cadet teacher and graduated from Mercyhurst College in 1948. She taught in Linesville from 1949-51; St. Joseph's, Oil City, from 1952-53, and at Rocky Grove from 1953-54. She also taught in Indiana County at Apollo-Ridge High School from 1962-86. She was a business education teacher. Mary Mar was a member of St. Thomas More Parish (Newman Center) at IUP in Indiana, where she volunteered as a religious education teacher, choir member, parish council member and steward. She served as secretary and member of New Century and was an avid bridge player. She is survived by Harry, her husband of 55 years; loving daughters and spouses, Mary Anne and Wayne Pentrack, of Pittsburgh, and Jane and Owen Nene, of Springdale, and grandchildren, Margaret and Craig Pentrack. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas E. McLaughlin II. Viewing for family and friends will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday in the REINSEL FUNERAL HOME, Oil City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with Msgr. John W. Swoger, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
