Aimee Pyles
Class of 2002
Army, 4 Years
Right after graduation Aimee left for the military. Aimee served four years active duty as a 45 B (Small Arms Repair). Aimee received her training at Fort Jackson, SC and Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. She served a tour of duty in Iraq from March 2003 to April 2004. While there she served on the Foreign Weapons committee. The committee was responsible to take all foreign weapons that were apprehended and inspect, clean, repair and make them ready for service for the Iraqi Military. She later received medical retirement in 2006 for injuries she sustained while serving. Her time served was an incredible journey that shaped who she is today and makes her value and love her country even more.

I enlisted in 1975 and spent six years as an enlisted soldier training at Fort Polk, LA and stationed at Fort Lewis, WA, Turkey, Fort Huchuca, AZ, and recruiting in Boise, ID. I attained the rank of Staff Sargent.
I then went back to college for two years and received an officer's commission through ROTC at Boise State University.
As an officer I served at Fort Knox, KY, Fort, Benjamin Harrision, IN, Berlin, Germany, and finished here in Sacramento, CA -- again with Army Recruiting Command. I retired in 1997 as a Major.
During my years in the officer corps, I completed a Master Degree in Public Administration, which laid the foundation for my second career as a Legislative Analyst for a large public education agency in their Gopvernmental Relations office here in Sacramento, CA.
