About	January 16, 2001 MONUMENT BEACH Barbara (Roberts) Mackesy, 87, a registered nurse and member of several genealogical societies, died Sunday after a short illness. She was the wife of Vincent A. Mackesy for 62 years. Mrs. Mackesy was born in Boston and lived most of her life in Bourne. She graduated from Bourne High School in 1931 and the Maine General School of Nursing in 1935. She was registered to practice in both Maine and Massachusetts and worked until her marriage at the former Barnstable County Sanitarium in Pocasset. Mrs. Mackesy was a Mayflower descendent and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century Descendants of Colonial Clergy. She was also a member of the Military Order of the World Wars. In past years she was active with her husband in sponsoring Cape Cod high school students to attend Youth Leadership conferences at Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge, PA.
