It has been a long ten years since the passing of Mary Gerrard-Lee in Spanish Fork Canyon. And all her family still think the world of her. In all that time, her son, Edan Lee, has grown into a young man and a senior in high school. He still enjoys reading and his favorite place is the library. Mary's husband Travis Lee and Edan moved to Billings, Montana in August, where Travis works for a local charity. Both men appreciate how much Mary is a part their lives. Mary's youngest brother Wylie, along with his wife Terri and daughter Emelia, moved to the Dallas Texas area in 2001. Mary is missed and thought of often. Her love of animals, the arts, writing, and a strong physical likeness are all present in Emelia, who is currently a freshman in high school. She plays violin in the orchestra and is an avid writer in the fantasy genre. Wylie is a National Sales Manager for The Freeman Companies and Terri is a Staff Accountant for the law firm Winstead. Mary's oldest brother, Ed Gerrard, wife Eva, daughters Kristy (Evans) DeVries, Jennifer (Evans) Smith, and Catherine (Gerrard) Wilkerson, of Sandy, UT greatly miss Mary. Our faith in God's Word gives us peace that Mary is with her parents and is watching over her family. We thank everyone around us for the love and support over the years. Happy Holidays.

BIRTH 9 Jan 1962, Elko, Elko County, Nevada, USA
DEATH 21 Dec 1997 (aged 35), Utah County, Utah, USA
BURIAL Price City Cemetery, Price, Carbon County, Utah, USA
It is with sorrow that we learned of an automobile accident in Spanish Fork Canyon on December 21, that took the life of one of our chapter members. Mary Jane Gerrard-Lee and her son Edan were driving through the canyon when Mary Jane was involved in an accident that took her life. Her son Edan was not seriously injured in the accident.
At the time of her death, Mary Jane was directing the Helper Mining and Railroad Museum in Helper, Utah. At a memorial service held in her honor, many words were expressed regarding her competence and thoroughness in her work at the museum.
The same can be said of her work with the local chapter of Utah Friends of Paleontology. Just shortly before her untimely death, Mary Jane had, with other volunteers, helped organize the Chapter Christmas social. Mary Jane had gone the extra mile in not only helping organize and decorate for the social but had also made a gingerbread house that was given as a door prize.
Her smile and helping hands will be missed. We extend condolences to her family and loved ones at this time.
