About BROWN, Louis Noel Jr. known to friends and loved ones as "Lou", passed away on September 18, 2023, at the age of 68. Lou's life was a testament to service and unwavering love for his family, community, and his Lord. Lou was born on April 9, 1955, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Louis and Edith Brown. He grew up on Lake Carroll in Tampa and graduated from Chamberlain High School, where he played basketball and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Lou attended the University of Florida and loved cheering for the Gators. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Studies (DDS) from Emory University, following in the footsteps of his father. His commitment to dentistry became a lifelong vocation, serving the Tampa community for 38 years. Lou's dedication to his patients and his genuine care for their well-being were the cornerstones of his practice. On August 4, 1984, Lou married the love of his life, Anne Colmery. They were blessed with two children, daughter Elizabeth "Betsy" and son Cameron, of whom he was endlessly proud. Lou faithfully served as the chairman of the Cambridge Christian School Board, as an elder at Seminole Presbyterian Church and most recently as a member of Tampa Covenant Church. His faith in the Lord Jesus was the cornerstone of his life. As a husband, father, son, brother, and friend Lou was faithful, gentle, and loving. He cherished time at his farm, Belle Haven, in Gordonsville, Virginia, where together he and Anne created a haven of warmth and hospitality for friends and family. Lou is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Anne, his devoted children, daughter Elizabeth "Betsy" Brown, his son Cameron Brown (Ray), and his loving sisters, Ivie Harrington (Tom) and Laura Dunbar. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Edith Brown. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Tampa Covenant Church or The Parkinson's Foundation, in honor of Lou's commitment to his faith and his brave fight against Parkinson's disease. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11 am at Tampa Covenant Church, located at 13320 Lake Magdalene Blvd., Tampa, FL 33618, followed by a reception.
