About	Douglas Wagg, Sr., 82, of Byhalia, passed away on November 17 at Mississippi Veteran’s Home in Oxford. He served four years in the United States Air Force, was a lumber jack in the Great North Woods in Minnesota, worked fire and rescue in Malone, NY and Collierville, TN, and retired from Carrier Corporation in Collierville, TN, where he worked as a coil lacer and a brazer. He gave more than 30 years to the youth of Byhalia, Marshall and Tate County preparing fields, coaching, and umpiring baseball and softball. He leaves behind his wife of 33 years, Janice, a brother Art Wagg (Mary) of Poplar Grove, IL, a sister Vera Flavell (Harold) of , a sister Donna Samuelson (Frank) of Moline, IL, a brother, Harold Krause, of MO, a son Micheal Wagg (Jennifer) of Collierville, TN, a daughters Melissa and Jessica of Bartlett, TN, a daughter, Angela McIntyre (Scott) of Columbus, Indiana, a son, Manning Shackelford (Sammie) of Byhalia, MS, a daughter Emily Herring (Philip) of Olive Branch, MS, a daughter Ellen Gehrke (Matt) of Springfield, GA, 15 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Wagg, II, his parents (Faye and Harriet Wagg), a brother Bill Wagg, a brother David McNamee, sisters Rose, June, Betty
Events	Services were held on November 26, 2023, at Victory Church in Byhalia, MS. His grandson, Caleb Shackelford officiated.
