About | Charles R. Sandt, Sr. March 13, 1950 - January 15, 2021 Irmo, South Carolina - Charles R. Sandt, Sr., 70, of Irmo, SC passed away on January 15, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 1541 Lake Murray Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29212. Born March 13, 1950, in Easton, PA., Charles was a son of the late Roland E. Sandt and Virginia Sandt. Charles graduated from Easton High School, class of 1968. He also attended the Indiana Institute of Technology, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Lafayette College, Easton, PA. Charles had a long engineering and sales career with Flowserve, Inc., formerly Ingersoll Rand, retiring in 2016. After retiring he worked at Oak Hills Golf Club in Columbia, SC. Charles was a loving father, grandfather, and brother, who enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed playing golf and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jeffrey, in 1962, and a son, Charles R. Sandt, Jr. on July 2, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Twila with whom he celebrated 36 loving years of marriage on March 17, a daughter, Kimberly Perkins (Joseph); a son, Jeffrey Sandt (Arlene) and five grandchildren, Charles R., Sandt, III, Rachel Sandt, John Perkins, Auston Perkins, and Nolan Sandt. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Rose Marie Spruill of Austin, TX; brothers, John Sandt (Joy) of Allentown, PA and Lt. Col. Gary Sandt, retired, (Pennie) of Norman, OK; a sister, Susan Doll (Dani) of Easton, PA; sisters-in-law, Sandra Tipton (Vernon) and Denise Spruill, and Many nieces and nephews. He was an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Columbia, SC where he served as an Elder, a Trustee, sang in the choir, and was a Stephen minister. Memorial gifts can be made to Mt.
