| About Me | My life has presented me with a lot of really valuable experiences, some great and some not so great, but they have all helped me get to where I am today. I’ve learned that my peers can teach me a lot about myself and that working with others while accepting and truly trying to implement their feedback will help me to be a better person. I’ve learned that sometimes the impossible is possible as long as you remain positive, flexible and set goals for yourself. These experiences, although challenging, will help me become a better leader and innovator for tomorrow. I’ve learned that asking for help is not a bad thing. A mentor, teacher, family member, or friend can help soothe my worried mind in so many ways. I’ve learned that the key to happiness is through helping and serving others, no matter what the TV, magazines, or anything else tells you. I’ve learned that some amazing job opportunities are not as amazing as they may seem and even in a bad economy, sometimes it’s not worth it to stick it out in a place that truly negatively effects your life and therefore the relationships you have. It really helped me realize that money can never matter as much as time and that relationships with those who you care about are what truly matter in life. You can make all the money in the world, but if you don't have people that you love and those who truly love you back, then life isn't worth living. The people in my life are so important to me. I absolutely love my family (my parents are my heroes and my sister will always be one of my best friends) & my friends & of course my amazing boyfriend Anthony- I don't know what I would do without all of the great support he provides me with. As I pursued my Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs, I looked towards the future with anxiety and excitement. I looked forward to the adventures that would lie ahead and the opportunities that I would have to influence the lives of college students, as so many student affairs professionals had the opportunity to do with me. With the love and support of those around me, I am proud to have achieved the first steps in my goal of being a student affairs professional. I feel so blessed to now work at a university I love, with the ability to help prospective students and their families, school counselors from around the world, and current students. I hope that I can continue to lend a helping hand, expand knowledge, and grow myself over the years to come. I can’t wait to see what my future will bring me....(read more) |
