Several of us are going to be in town the weekend of Homestead’s Homecoming this year. Jane Tyner, Chris and Cathy Davidson and Vicki Kraeblen will all be around. Jody Rechtin hopes to make it before she takes off for her trip to Guatamala. Karyl Knueppel hopes to be back in her Thiensville home from their home up north. Nancy Nebel will be in town helping her mom, and will come when she can. Rick O’Malley is saving the date. It's a mini reunion already and we're just getting started!
It would be great to have anyone else in the area stop in. Can you join us?
The parade is on Friday October 7 and will start at 4 or 4:30 (the high school didn't have the time yet). We will meet and watch the parade in front of Remington's - a restaurant / bar on Main Street along the parade route. The address is 130 S Main St, Thiensville (across from the old lumber yard building). We can hang out there for the parade and visit after. We can even get a bite to eat right there if anyone is hungry.
For those who are interested in seeing the new football complex at Homestead, the game is that night at 7 PM. The football field was renovated last year to the tune of 1.2 million dollars - all paid for by private donations. Some of the structures are new too. It's like a small college campus. Might be fun to see it under the lights!
Let me know if you think you can stop in, and whether you're thinking for the parade or for the game so we know how many blankets to put out. And be sure to tell anyone you are in touch with from the class of '68! If the group gets big enough, we'll need to give the restaurant a heads up on what to expect!

This is the celebration of the 50th aniversary of Homestead High. Monday September 14 - commemoration of the first day of school fifty years later - in the James Barr Auditorium at HHS - in the evening - time frame around 6-8pm. There will be speakers, a slide show, possibility of school tours, cake and punch, unveiling of a commemorative painting, and some other surprises. *The class of '62 members attending are honored guests. Friday October 9 Homecoming weekend - 4pm - Homecoming parade through Main Street in Thiensville (goes from Freistadt Rd. to the high school) - good gathering spots anywhere along Main Street - the class of '69 is gathering at Schmit- Ford to watch. Following the parade, an alumni gathering in the HHS cafeteria. Football game starts at 7pm. Saturday October 10 - Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 6pm in the HHS cafeteria. The Homecoming Dance is in the fieldhouse that evening. Tours of the school could be conducted Saturday afternoon.
